Isolation vinyls part.1
Hello people!
Finally I made it to my first post (I wasn't waiting a pandemic or anything to find spare time). I hope you are doing well and enjoying as much as you can these difficult days that humanity is facing. I decided to start my blog now because I believe is a great creative way to keep me (and you) busy during this time at home!

Finally I made it to my first post (I wasn't waiting a pandemic or anything to find spare time). I hope you are doing well and enjoying as much as you can these difficult days that humanity is facing. During the last 2 months I have spent an unhealthy amount of time and money buying records. But here are some reasons that I don't feel guilty about it:
- music heals the soul
- you can't have too many records
- artists need you
- record stores need you
There are many bussiness that are stuggling during this crazy time, and music industry is one of them. Artists have cancelled their tours and postponed any upcoming work. Music venues have closed their doors and they don't have any income. Record stores are the same! So in order to keep music alive after all this is over you can help them by ordering vinyls online. And the feeling waiting the postman to arrive with your records is the best!

In this post I am going to show you the first 3 albums that I have bought during the lockdown:
Album no.1 : Boundary Road Snacks and Drinks& Sweet Princess by Dry Cleaning (2019)
I have discovered Dry Cleaning earlier this year from DIY magazine. And I love their sound! I would describe them as post-punk band with storytelling songs. Favourite song: Magic of Megan
Album no.2: Remind me tomorrow by Sharon Van Etten (2019)
SVE's latest album is the best company you could have in isolation. Her unique voice and pure lyrics accompany you to a beautiful musical trip. And it was voted one of Rough Trade's top 2019 albums.
I discovered Beruit when I was on a holiday in Nice and my cousin was playing their albums in the morning. Their sound, a mix of indie rock with balkan music, reminds me of home, with a combination of many instruments such as trumpet, ukelele, piano, organs, accordion and mandolin. Favourite song: Postcards from Italy
Record store: Banquet Records (Kingston, UK)
And that's all for now! I am waiting many more albums to arrive, so be prepared for more isolation vinyl posts. Until then, make the most of your time at home, listen to your favourite artists and wash those hands!
Love,
Sofia
Well done, amica! I found it really inspiring! I'll blame it to you if I spend more money on music!
