Back in time: Music Festivals
Hello friends!
I hope you are doing great and keep following the social distancing rules. No matter how unclear they seem to be. Since the festival season is approaching, and with all this year's festivals being cancelled, I decided to write a post about some of the most legendary festivals in music history! Hope you enjoy this journey back in time.
1. Woodstock (White Lake, NY, August 1969)
3 days of peace and music. That's what Woodstock was. One of the most iconic festivals that changed the history of rock and roll. Why was that? Not only because of the incredible line-up, including Jimi Hendrix, The Who, Jefferson Airplane, Santana, Crosby,Stills, Nash & Young and many other big names. But also because everything back then was fresh. People were amused by the music, with no mobile phones and selfie sticks to distract them. 400 000 people were the luckiest people in music history.
2. US Festival (San Bernardino, California, May 1983)
Imagine attending a music festival in the 80s. The era of rock and disco. And seeing The Clash, Van Halen and David Bowie headlining the same festival. From the rebel punk rockers to the king of glam rock.
3. Reading Festival 1992 (Reading, UK)
Maybe the most iconic festival in grunge scene. It was Nirvana's final UK appearance, with Kurt Cobain appearing on stage in a wheelchair wearing a hospital gown and a blonde wig. Other big names: Smashing Pumpkins, Manic Street Preachers and Beastie Boys.
4.Glastonbury 1995 (Somerset,UK)
England in the 90s..where Britpop was born and blooming. Headliners included the Britpop fathers Oasis and Pulp (who were replacing The Stone Roses). Other big names: PJ Harvey, Simple Minds, The Cure.

5. Leeds 2002 (UK)
One of the biggest festivals of the 21st century. Headliners included The Prodigy, The Strokes, Foo Fighters, Muse, Pulp. Also on the Friday Guns and Roses made an appearance.
6.Glastonbury 2013 (Somerset, UK)
Arctic Monkeys headlining Glastonbury, 2 months before the release of their fifth album AM, which made them one of the biggest British bands, or shall I say one of the biggest bands in the world. Oh, also The Rolling Stones headlined that year, and Mumford & Sons.
❤❤❤
And that's the end of this music trip back in time. These were only some of the best festivals held, and in my opinion. What would be your dream festival line-up?
Hope we can get back to festivals
and music concerts soon and celebrate music in the best way!
Love,
Sofia
