Isolation vinyls part.2

Hello people!

If you are reading this it means that you either have a great music taste or you are stuck at home on this bank holiday with not much to do. Either way thank you for coming back to my blog! In this post, as I promised, I will show you another 3 isolation vinyl albums that I have been spinning constantly these past weeks.  Also I will share some tips on discovering new music. So grab a beer and let's get started!

                                                                                       ❤️❤️❤️

As much as I love spinng my all time classic albums, I also love discovering new artists and experimenting with different music genres. Here are some ways that I follow to seek new music:

  • Spotify:

Spotify is a great way to discover new artists. There are millions of playlists there depending on your mood. From working from home playlist to singing in the shower. And they are full of different artists from all over the globe!

  • Record stores:

As I mentioned in my last post, record stores are struggling a lot during this pandemic, and they are asking people to visit them online so they can be there for music lovers after this strange time. So if you visit their online stores they list new releases weekly. Also on their instagram profiles they post lots of pictures of their albums of the week!

Here is a link to discover new record stores:

  • Record store day website:

Record store day is an annual day when records shops celebrate by releasing limited editions of some albums. This year RSD has been postponed until September, but on this website lots of Record Store people post their favourite albums, both modern and classic. So you can learn what your local record store peeps are listening!

  • Magazines, artists and music venues

Many artists and music venues post on their personal profiles some of their favourite quarantunes. They also perform many live virtual gigs in order to fulfil your live music needs. Music magazines write lots of posts with recommended music and upcoming artists. My favourite ones include readdork and DIY.

                                                                                               💿💿💿

And  here are my isolation vinyls!

Album 4: High Risk Behaviour by The Chats (2020)

This is the newest release in my collection. The aussie trio's first album is full of happy energetic tunes that bring the house parties of Australia in your house! They definitely know how to lift up your mood.

 Genre: punk rock ,'shed' rock

Favourite tune: Identity Theft

Record store: Sister Ray Records (London, UK)

Album 5: U.F.O.F by Big Thief (2019)

Big Thief's 3rd album is a masterpiece of lovely melodies. Adrianne's hypnotic voice combined with the softly guitar travel you to nature, where nothing else but you exist. If you want an album about emotions, dreams, nature and acoustic guitars then U.F.O.F is for you! (The last F stands for Friend in case you are curious)

 Genre: indie folk, indie rock

Favourite tune: U.F.O.F

Record Store: Resident (Brighton, UK)

Album 6: Sometimes I sit and think and sometimes I just sit by Courtney Barnett (2015)

This is a pretty special album to me because it's the first vinyl I ever bought and it's from my local record shop,Left for dead. I love Courtney's music and lyrics, which are full of humour describing every day situations. This album is a mixture of 90s indie pop, grunge and country ballads.

 Favourite track: Pedestrian at Best

Record Store: Left for dead (Shrewsbury, UK)

                                                                                                      💿💿💿

I hope you enjoyed this post and found some inspiration. If you want  any recommendations on a specific music genre just let me know! Also I would like to know your isolation albums 😉  Wishing you a lovely sunny weekend, with lots of fun zoom parties, music and beer!!

Love,

Sofia
