Eurovision mania series #1
Hello lovely people!
I am back with another post that is about my second passion after vinyls..Eurovision!! Many people make fun of this song contest saying that it is a music contest for the crazy untalented artists of each country.. Or they dislike it as it is a political oriented contest where countries vote for the neighbours.
What those people don't know is that Eurovision is the biggest music festival in Europe bringing all the countries together and celebrating diversity through music! I love the fact that each country sends a song representing their own culture. You discover so many artists that you may have never heard of otherwise and you learn more about each country through their music.I remember the first ESC that I watched was in 2002 when Latvia won, and I was so amazed when the singer Marie N changed 3 different outfits in the same performance! I still remember it as I have never seen a performance like that before.
Since I love talking about Eurovision, I decided to do a series of Eurovision posts in this blog until the day of the big final, talking about all things Eurovision, this year's entries and general Eurovision facts. I am lucky to have friends that share the same passion with me (maybe more!) but writing about it as well will help reducing the amount of people I annoy :P
Unfortunately this year things won't be the same with the tragic events happening in Europe. But with Ukraine in the 2022 contest and all the countries supporting it it will be a message of hope and unity that better times will come!

Today I will give you 5 interesting facts about this year's ESC as a first post-and if you weren't planning watching it maybe could change your mind!
- ESC 2022 will be held in the beautiful Turin and it would be the 3rd time Italy hosts the contest.
- The famous singer MIKA will be one of the 3 hosts of the show, together with Italian television presenter Alessandro Cattelan and singer Laura Pausini.
- The famous rock band The Rasmus, known for their hit 'In the Shadows', will represent Finland with their song Jezebel.
- Russia is banned from this year's contest because of the invasion in Ukraine after the protests of many countries. They also quited from the Eurovision Broadcasting Union (EBU)-meaning they will not participate in future Eurovision song contests.
- The Eursovision stage is designed by Francesca Montinaro and is called "The Sun Within", symbolising Italy: lots of sun, a garden, and cascades of water.
Hope you enjoyed today's post and learned some interesting facts about this year's contest! Thank you so much for reading and supporting the blog. See you at Eurovision mania part 2.
